| Working Schedule v3.1 | ||
| posted
on Aug 28, 2010 A revised working schedule for the 2010-2011 Bay Cup Season is available for download as a pdf at this url:
Note that the previously posted schedule was missing this set of events on 10/2/10, due to an accidental omission (apologies!): Y14WS1; JWS1; WS2. Also, the 6/26/11 foil events have been moved to 6/25/11. A club list is provided at the bottom of the schedule. This version of the working schedule has been updated with club locations through September. A version of the schedule with club assignments through the year will be posted by 9/1/10. The working schedule represents our best, current understanding of the event schedule for: All NACs, Nationals, all SYCs, SFO RYCs, West Coast ROCs, PCS circuit events Some events have been put in as placeholders and may change. Because the first NAC of the season is in mid-October this year, we're starting off the season with a number of events concentrated before the NAC. If you have questions or comments, please email to: baycupinput@gmail.com |

| Season Pass Pricing this Season | ||
| posted
on Aug 26, 2010 This season, The Bay Cup membership is a little different. There are simply two categories, either members or non-members. You no longer need to sign up for membership for the different age categories. Being a member allows you to fence in any age category you are eligible for. This will allow for less confusion and mistakes when arriving at a tournament. Host clubs will only need to check one list (the membership list) before an event instead of consulting youth, senior, and veteran membership lists.
Standard Bay Cup single-event registration fee = $10 per event (paid at event, for non-season pass holders) Season Pass membership = $70. This registers you for season-long membership. If you are only planning on fencing in one series this season it is a better plan to pay the single entry fee of $10/event. If you are planning on fencing in more than one series this season the membership fee of $70 may be a better deal (depending on how many events you fence). Your payment of Bay Cup membership fees goes towards subsidizing referee fees, medals, prizes, and operating expenses. As before, Bay Cup fees are in addition to the club fee (typically $20/event.) If you are fencing at a Bay Cup event this weekend and want to buy a Season Pass, there will be Bay Cup volunteers to sign you up (and take your cash or checks, of course). Sorry, no credit cards...yet... If you are not fencing at a Bay Cup event this weekend but would like to send in a signup form with payment by mail, request a form by emailing thebaycup@gmail.com |

| Checking your season results / Status of gift cards | ||
| posted
on Jun 21, 2010 Please check the results and standings for your events in the 2009/2010 Bay Cup season. Use the links on the left side of the home page to check results and standings posted for each series in which you competed. We sometimes get multiple identities for the same person in the standings due to spelling errors, mis-entry, or the fencer's use of different versions of their name on AskFred. Please email any corrections needed to baycupinput@gmail.com by July 17, 2010. After that time, we'll consider the posted results final for the purposes of determining gift card recipients. We anticipate distributing gift cards for the 2009/2010 season in August. As in past seasons, gift cards will be awarded 8 deep for each series. The budget for the gift cards will be determined after outstanding Bay Cup fees are received from the host clubs and after the Bay Cup Board reviews the finances for the past season and the proposed budget for the upcoming Bay Cup season. Thanks for your patience! |

| Guide for Bay Cup Fencers | ||
| posted
on May 15, 2010 A guide for Bay Cup fencers has been prepared and is available for download here.
This guide provides participants in Bay Cup fencing events with a summary of the host club guidelines. These are the procedures and protocols that host clubs are expected to follow as prescribed in the Bay Cup Host Club Procedures document provided to each club. This guide also serves as a summary checklist for the host clubs. The summary checklist (2nd and 3rd pages of the guide) is to be posted during Bay Cup events. The intent of this guide is to help establish a common understanding of event goals and procedures. While one goal is provide the best competitive fencing experience possible for the fencer, another goal for Bay Cup events is to provide training opportunities and experience for host club personnel and referees. We hope that the clubs, coaches, referees, and fencers recognize these goals and work together to provide a positive experience at all Bay Cup events.

| Bay Cup Registration Fees and AskFred Preregistration | ||
| posted
on Sep 6, 2009 The standard Bay Cup registration fee is $10 per event (in addition to the host club event fee). You may instead purchase a season-pass for a discounted fee of $45 for one age category (Junior, Senior, or Veteran Bay Cup categories). For two age categories, the fee is $80. Consider purchasing a season pass if you plan to compete in more than 4 events in an age category (you can fence multiple weapons in the age category). Registration forms with the season-pass option will be available at the host clubs for the events. Your payment of the registration fee goes toward subsidizing referee fees, medals, prizes, and operating expenses. Please preregister for Bay Cup events on AskFred.net. This helps the host club plan properly for the event. A late fee of $10 will be assessed for registering at the door. |
